Description

Hal Dedmond is a widely collected Folk Potter from the Catawba Valley in North Carolina. Hal has been creating amazing Pots and Jugs, Vases, Faces and Pitchers since 1994. Hal is mostly self taught but had the opportunity to work with the famous Burlon Craig. Hal will always recall Burlon Craig being very generous with his time and knowledge and the joy he took in getting others to begin making pots on their own. Hal Dedmond's pottery keeps alive the traditional North Carolina pottery techniques used by potters who settled in the Catawba Valley before the Civil War. Hal feels using these historically traditional techniques and processes allows him to express his love of tradition and local heritage. Hal Dedmond's highly collectable pottery work is part of the Mint Museum's permanent pottery collection.
Enjoy this great opportunity to add this fabulous piece of NC Folk Pottery to your collection.
